Hey! I’m Kayleigh.
A pale, Scottish lass living in the Dunfermline (although not a Fifer) with my husband Mark and our son.
I’ve been rambling online about my life since 2013. Kayleigh Beth (previously Frocks and Fairycakes) started as a creative outlet from my day job which involved way too many spreadsheets! This wee blog of mine started out as a fashion blog, but once I realised I didn’t have the endless amount of money it took to be a fashion blogger in 2013, it evolved into a lifestyle blog. More recently, I’ve been trying to change my consumerist ways and live more sustainably.
My blog started as a hobby (that I told nobody about!) and has turned into something I love so much I’ve made it into a career. In 2019 I started my own business offering social media coaching, management, copywriting and proofreading.
As much as I can’t imagine life without the internet, I haven’t always had it.
I fall into the category of millennial who remembers a time when life wasn’t online. In fact, I remember my Dad getting the internet and not knowing what I could possibly use it for! I think this contributes towards me being an old soul really – I’ll always pick pen and paper over a digital equivalent. I love old ‘things’ and I’m happiest when watching old movies, especially Gone With the Wind – my favourite.
An introvert, you’ll often find me either at my sewing machine or snuggled up under a blanket with a cup of tea and a good book or boxset to binge on. I’m a big music fan, and I used to love going to gigs, but now you’re more likely to find me singing and dancing round the kitchen with my toddler. On top of that, I collect old ‘things’ (typewriters, sewing machines, cameras) and Alice in Wonderland books, actually Alice in Wonderland anything!
Expect posts on me learning to sew, personal style, parenting and my attempts at living a more sustainable life.
I love meeting new people (IRL and virtually), so drop me an email or head over to my DMs on Instagram if you want to chat!
